Innovation Workshop

Step into MOXI’s Innovation Workshop to tinker, build, and bring ideas to life with new monthly themes and endless opportunities to make, play, and create.

Sound Track.

Climb inside a giant guitar, play digital DJ, and explore the science of sound through instruments, digital interfaces, waves, and vibrations.

Fantastic Forces Courtyard.

Step outside into the Fantastic Forces Courtyard! Explore gravity, wind, and rotation as you launch balls, float scarves, spin turntables, and send puffballs soaring.

Speed Track.

Fuel your need for speed! Build a race car, engineer a marble roller coaster, launch projectiles, and bring objects to life with stop-motion animation.

Crawlers’ Corner.

Crawl, climb, and explore in this nature-inspired space for babies and toddlers. Build motor skills while discovering early math concepts like shapes, patterns, and counting.

Quiet Cave.

Recharge in the Quiet Cave, a calming space with soft lighting, gentle sounds, and tactile activities for a peaceful sensory reset.

Light Track.

Explore the fascinating world of light, color, and shadows in MOXI’s low-lit Light Track where science and technology and art come together.

Mountain View Terrace

Chugga chugga choo choo! All aboard the Mountain View Terrace, complete with a train station view. Pump, build, and release air to play whistles and measure real train sounds.

Sky Garden.

Enjoy breathtaking views of Santa Barbara from the mountains to the sea on our exhibit-filled rooftop.

Building Brick playspace
